The Pearl Qur’an Competition, organised by the Pearl of Africa Salam Muslim Community, was a successful and uplifting event that brought children of all ages and ability levels together in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The competition provided children with the opportunity to recite verses from the Holy Qur’an, while also giving those at the early stages of learning a chance to confidently introduce themselves, share their parents’ names, and discuss their interests in front of a group. This inclusive approach ensured that every child could participate, feel valued, and be celebrated.
The event played a crucial role in helping children get to know one another, build confidence in public speaking, and foster a deeper connection with the Qur’an.
Listening to their peers recite and speak inspired many children to continue reading, learning, and improving their Qur’an recitation.

Pearl of Africa Salam Muslim Community recently organised a joyful children’s get-together following Salat al-Jumu’ah at the Selby Centre, Tottenham (London N17 8JL).
The event created a welcoming space for children to relax, socialise, and have fun after prayers. The kids thoroughly enjoyed a variety of food and engaging activities, filling the venue with laughter, excitement, and positive energy.
